Juliet Weissman has been named Cornell Tech’s new chief administrative officer, effective March 16.

Weissman will oversee the administrative, financial and operational aspects of Cornell Tech and will serve as a key adviser to Dean Dan Huttenlocher in these areas.

“I joined Cornell Tech because it is a unique institution in higher education where my personal and professional passions for applied STEM [science, technology, engineering, math] education, entrepreneurship and innovation converge in the world’s most extraordinary city, which I’ve been fortunate to call my hometown,” Weissman said.

Said Huttenlocher: “Juliet brings terrific experience, energy and thoughtfulness to our work, and I look forward to her joining us.”

Previously, Weissman was vice president of organizational effectiveness at The College Board, a national nonprofit best known for its SAT and Advanced Placement programs. There, she was responsible for the operational and infrastructure needs of more than 1,300 employees across a dozen offices, in partnership with finance and information technology.

Weissman also has experience in business development for the media and technology sectors, as well as strategy consulting organizations, ranging from five-person startups to large corporations. She was vice president of business development at Primedia, manager of business development at Tigris Consulting, a high school mathematics teacher, and executive director of Far Bound – The Teaching Apprenticeship.

A native New Yorker and an active volunteer in K-12 and higher education organizations, Weissman holds a bachelor’s degree in applied mathematics and economics from Harvard University.
