A community support meeting will take place at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 11 in McManus Lounge, Hollister Hall, in response to the death of Ephrahim Garcia, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering. Garcia died Sept. 10. A memorial service is being planned.

The adviser of three student project teams and a mentor to many undergraduate and graduate students, Garcia was a “wonderful colleague with a self-proclaimed desire to ‘mix it up a bit,’” said Lance Collins, dean of the College of Engineering, in a message to engineering colleagues.
